Grandmother, great aunt, you name it. If you’re old enough, you probably had a relative with a very green room. The trend is back!

Green has been trending in kitchen design since late 2020, and now bathrooms are joining the general color trend.

According to data collected by Victorian Plumbing, a bathroom retailer, shades of green like sage, pistachio, and emerald are trending hard. The photo above showcases the trend with Palm Green and Pavillion Green tiles from Original Style. And you know what? We’re kind of sold on it. It’s so soothing.

And that’s exactly why green has been trending over the last year—people want the soothing greenery of the natural world right there in their homes. With the stress of the pandemic and the amount of time spent at home, it’s no wonder that people went crazy for houseplants and everything green and soothing!

But hey, if updating all the tile work in the bathroom isn’t in your budget, there’s always the old tried-and-true way to introduce green into any setting—houseplants! Humidity-loving plants like Boston ferns, bromeliads, dumb canes, and philodendrons love getting parked in the bathroom so that they can soak up all the steamy goodness.
