Remember chasing down the ice cream truck when you were a kid? It’s a time-honored summer tradition! But did you ever wonder which treat was the most popular?
Seaside Vacations wanted to find out which ice cream treat people love most. To do so, the vacation property rental company developed a list of 24 popular menu choices, then looked at Google search trends over the last year in all 50 states, and Washington, D.C., to come up with an answer.
So, what won? It was none other than that chocolate-covered goodie, the Klondike Bar! The classic summer dessert topped the list in nine states, including North Carolina, Kentucky, and Idaho.
While an actual ice cream treat might have taken the top spot, that famous red, white, and blue popsicle kids have always loved came in second. The Firecracker was the most popular treat in eight states, including much of the deep south, like Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Turns out, though, the Firecracker isn’t alone in second place! The famous ChocoTaco, with its sugar cone shell, fudge-swirled ice cream filling, and chocolate-coated top also finished strong in eight states.
