You Can Finally Get Strong Coffee From Your Keurig

Keurig’s single-cup and carafe brewing options are two of its most defining features. Now, you can customize those convenient brews with the brand’s new coffee machine.

The new Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart Coffee Maker features new Brew ID technology, which allows you to customize nearly everything about how the machine brews your coffee, including how strong it is.

The machine is controlled through an app (available on both iPhone and Android) that allows you to customize a plethora of brewing options. You just link your phone to the machine and, when a pod is inserted into the dispenser, the app will recognize it (as long as it’s a Keurig partner-branded pod, of course).

The app then presents a multitude of recommendations for brewing directly from those partnered brands, as well as options to customize the process. These include brewing a stronger cup, adjusting the temperature of the coffee, and even saving your custom brew settings.

Enjoy an afternoon iced coffee? Save that brewing process to the app, and all you’ll have to do tomorrow is select it from your preferences. Then, just switch back to your preferences for your morning cup of hot coffee.

Other app features include alerts when your machine needs cleaning and descaling, reminders about changing the filter, and an option to set up auto-delivery of K-pods so you never run out.

Sure, an app for your coffee maker might be a bit extra when there are so many ways to brew the perfect cup. But is it cool? Yes. Yes, it is.
