Desserts might have been on the TikTok menu for the last few weeks, but now, the pasta craze is back with a new take on how to get the most delicious bite.

Pasta skewers are an evolution of pasta chips, and yes, much like you could carry around your pasta chips, this treat is portable.

This latest craze comes from @heartbeatfood, and features cooked penne slid onto traditional barbecue skewers, and then lightly coated in red sauce. Diced pieces of mozzarella, red onion and bell pepper, and black olives are added next. The skewers are baked until the cheese is melted, and then you’ve turned your pasta into finger food.

Despite the recent popularity of desserts, like banana Snickers and frozen honey, these skewers prove that TikTok remains the place for new takes on pasta.

After all, one of 2020’s most popular recipes was that baked feta pasta that spawned multiple variations, including a dessert version.

Then, of course, there was that honeycomb pasta—a cheesy masterpiece of cannelloni stuffed with string cheese and covered in marinara.

Sure, you can also find cocktail and air-fried snack recipes on the platform, but it’s comforting to see that pasta, in all of its glorious forms, continues to reign supreme.
