These Cute DIY Marble Pumpkins Are Surprisingly Easy to Make

DIY décor can go sideways quickly. There’s always the chance of getting burned by a hot glue gun or winding up with a lopsided craft. But TikTok’s latest fall decorating trend is both simple and achievable.

In her viral video, Emily Shaw DIYs a marble pumpkin with pouring medium and acrylic paint. She explains that it’s her first Halloween alone in her own space, and she wanted to make some pumpkins that match it. The result was some seriously cool-looking fall decorations.

Make pumpkins that perfectly match your home.

To achieve the paint-poured marble look, Shaw just pours some mixing medium into a cup and starts adding paints. She included three or four colors until they created a marble-like swirl (don’t mix them together).

Next, she placed her plastic pumpkin on a plastic sheet, but you can use a tarp, drop cloth, newspaper, or anything you have to protect your work surface. Then, she pours the paint onto the top of the pumpkin and moves the glass around it to coat the whole thing.

Shaw doesn’t cover the whole pumpkin in color because she wanted a drip effect, but you can choose whichever look you like best. After your pumpkins are painted, allow them to dry overnight (or longer if necessary), and then you’ve got some new customized fall decorations!

If (like me) dealing with paint is a bit too crafty for you, never fear—the toilet pumpkins might be just the right seasonal craft for you.
