If you’re looking for a last-minute craft for your Halloween decor, TikTok is coming to the rescue (as usual). This time, it’s a clever and affordable spider web rug.
TikTok content creator @jull.colors created a rug fashioned after a spider web with just a paint pen, some scissors, black and white paint, and a lighter.
In the video, @jull.colors drops a plain black mat onto the floor explaining that it came from Dollar Tree. Once the full mat is shown, she begins drawing a spider web pattern using a white paint pen. Then, once the web has been mapped out and dried, she uses a pair of scissors to cut out the outer edges of the pattern.
To ensure the edges are clean and even, she runs a lighter along the sides burning away any snags. Finally, with white paint, she makes the web outline bolder and fixes any mistakes with black paint.
She places the finished product in front of her stove, and it’s a perfect DIY spider web mat.
