Hayley Milliman

Hayley Milliman is a freelance writer at How to Geek and LifeSavvy. Hayley is a former Teach for America teacher turned curriculum developer and writer. Over the past five years, Hayley has written hundreds of blog posts on everything from education to personal finance to history. She is the co-author of the book Museum Hack's Guide to History's Fiercest Females.

She's still waiting for someone to pay her to write about Star Wars.

Experience

After graduating from college in 2012, Hayley was selected as a Teach for America corps member. She served for three years as an elementary school teacher and team lead at a turnaround school in Memphis, TN. After leaving the classroom in 2015, Hayley began working as a curriculum developer and education blogger, specializing in social studies curriculum and standardized test prep.

Since 2015, Hayley has worked as a full-time writer. You can find her work at Museum Hack, Prep Scholar, ProWritingAid, and at other various places around the web. She also specializes in writing email copy for sales funnels, so if you've opted into a landing page recently about health, fantasy football, dating, or marketing, there's a chance one of her ghostwritten emails has ended up in your inbox.

When Hayley isn't writing, she's moonlighting as the co-founder of the world's first adult-only Harry Potter convention, a creator of immersive popup bar experiences, or the reluctant host of silent discos.

Education

Hayley holds a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Barnard College.
